Booking are required via email (please see our CONTACT DETAILS page for details) Due to our rising costs we have had to raise our cost to £8 per child accompanying adults are free. Unfortunately, due to a high number of people booking this event and not showing up, once booked all monies are non returnable.
Please, please do not look at the Sun through a telescope or binoculars without the correct, undamaged solar filters as it will cause serious damage to your eyes.
Sunday Funday 26th June 2022
This month sees the Summer Solstice (Tuesday 21st June) aka Longest Day. The following Sunday will be our annually SUNDAY FUNDAY at the observatory. This is a open event with lots to do for all ages.

Tonight, sees the return of Rod Hine with his talk "Orbits, Spins and Chaos." Ever wondered how gravity keeps the planets in Orbits? Did you know that Neil Armstrong was nearly killed in a Spinning spacecraft in 1966? And just what is Chaos, scientifically speaking? All of this and plenty of fun demonstrations. The talk will begin at 19:30 in the Carlton Grange, next door to the Observatory. Admission fees are £5 for Members and £7 for Visitors. The Observatory will be open afterwards for refreshments and to continue the discussion.
