Speaker: Mr Gareth Few. Title: Astro-navigators, the Animals and Us.

Gareth is an astrophysicist working at the University of Hull where he uses computer simulations to model the formation and evolution of spiral galaxies. His research interests include the processes which shape galaxies, how different chemical elements are distributed within them, and the various processes that determine where stars form. To do this he uses some of the world’s most powerful supercomputers, without which these sophisticated hydrodynamic models would be impossible. Friday 28th June from 18:30pm - 20:30pm. The Rosse Observatory Pontefract will be hosting a young astronomer’s night, If your child has an interest in astronomy or wants to learn about astronomy then we are dedicating one night every month for them to come and meet others and learn about our night sky.
